Tomorrow from 10 AM to 4PM  and Sunday from 1 PM - 3 PM the City of Wilsonville Celebrates the opening of the Boeckman Road  extension and bridge. Beginning with a one mile fun run, and followed by Opening ceremonies, a variety of family-friendly activities will take place.  Live music will be performed by Acoustic Amour - face painters, balloon artists, and food booths will be present. 

Expert geologist Richard Waitt will give a presentation on the impact of the Missoula ice Age Floods on the local area. (Hence the name for the event - Missoula Palooza)

Sunday’s main event is a bike rodeo.

The City Planning Commission will meet June 11, 2008 at 6:00 PM in it’s usual City Hall location  (29799 SW Town Center Loop East.) 
This month’s agenda will include an update on the I-5/99W Connector Update by Commissioner Phelps among other topics.  If that’s an item of concern for you, it might be interesting to attend and see what’s new in that arena.

If you are a building contractor working in Wilsonville, heads up.  There are some new requirements in place, according the City.

The 2008 edition of the Oregon Residential Specialty Code [ORSC] contains new code language that requires contractors to provide written documentation of compliance with two new regulations. The new requirements are related to moisture control in wood construction, and high efficiency interior lighting systems, as follows;

ORSC Section R318.2. Moisture Control. Prior to the installation of interior finishes, the building official shall be notified in writing by the general contractor that all moisture-sensitive wood framing members used in construction have a moisture content of not more than 19 percent of the weight of dry wood framing members.

ORSC Section N1107.2. High-efficiency interior lighting systems. A minimum of fifty (50) percent o the permanently installed lighting fixtures shall be installed with compact or linear fluorescent, or a lighting source that has a minimum efficacy of 40 lumens per input watt. Screw-in compact fluorescent lamps comply with this requirement.
The building official shall be notified in writing at the final inspection that a minimum of fifty percent of the permanently installed lighting fixtures are compact or linear fluorescent, or a minimum efficacy of 40 lumens per input watt.

Come see what your Public Works employees do to maintain and keep the city functioning by watching a slideshow display and photo display or come visit one of the mulitiple activities planned for the week to learn more!

Public Works slideshow displays will be available to view at both City Hall and the Public Works Office main lobbies during the hours of 8-5pm or view a static photo display that will be on display for the public at the library during normal library operating hours during National Public Works Week.

Don’t forget to join us for free tours of the water and wastewater treatment plants with free transportation provided by SMART on May 20th. Bus pick up and drop off points will be located at the west City Hall entrance. Water Treatment Plant tour bus pick up will be at 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm with tours begining about 15 minutes after the hour and lasting about 30 minutes. WasteWater Treatment Plant tour bus pick up will be at 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm, and 2:30pm with tours begining about 45 minutes after the hour and lasting about 30 minutes.

The highlight of National Public Works Week will be our equipment display set up at Town Center Park from 10am-5pm on May 22 with free ice cream! We will also be activating the water features at both Town Center Park and Murase Plaza Park for the first time in 2008 for the summer season! This is a great activity for all ages and an opportunitty for kids to climb on some equipment for pictures and learn about Public Works!

May 12, 2008 at 6:30 PM, the Development Review Board will meet at City hall.  One of the main items on the agenda is discussion of a development at Willamette Landing.  For more information please visit the City’s Website.

The City of Wilsonville Development Review Board is holding a Public Hearing on a proposed medical clinic May 12, 2008 at 6:30 pm.

The proposal includes plans for a two-story, 25,000 square foot multi-tenant medical/ general office building. The majority of the proposed building will house a Providence Medical Clinic.
