Lamb’s Thriftway is holding two events this Saturday, October 27.
Children are invited to come in costume to The Halloween Party & Trick or Treat From 11am- 2pm. There will be "Fun & Games, Face Painting, and Trick-or-Treating."
While you are there, bring your plastics recycling. This Saturday is "Recycle by the Numbers day. The Recycling event takes place through most of the day.
You know, it was strange and unexpected. I live near what was The Palms Salon. One day, I drove by, and they simply were no longer there. Without any warning.
For those of you who wondered, as I did, what became of our favoite salon, I have news. I had heard rumors the stylists, manicurists, etc. had relocated to a salon near Albertson’s, and so I went to check it out. I stepped in, greeted by a peaceful waterfall, and a receptionist at the desk.
It turns out, Tami and Catey , Kim, Cindy, Emily are now located at Rain Salon in the Albertson’s building, around the corner from Starbuck’s. They offer an array of services from hair cutting/styling, facials, waxing, manicures, & pedicures.
For those of us with "hair issues" that only our favorite stylist can seem to deal with, this is a relief!

Wilsonville’s City Development Board has Approved the initial Stage I Development Plan and Class 3 Master Sign Plan for a miller Paints store. If all proceeds as planned, the store will be located in the lot adjacent to Bank of America on the eastern side of Park St. We will keep you posted with further developments as they occur.
Update 10/9/07 - Here is the letter that the city of Wilsonville sent to Shebuski & Lloyd’s, which precipitated their decision to close.
I thought I was there to do an interview for our first "Business of the Week" focus. I waited while Russ and Peggy Dubbel ran their store, while a customer thanked them for being open on a Sunday.
I started to ask my questions. Peggy cut to the chase. "Here is the most recent letter from the City."
Shebuski & Lloyd’s Hardware Store has been having some issues with the City of Wilsonville since 2003 regarding their U-Haul truck business, and the landscaping requirements. At one point it even went to court. The letter from the City received on Saturday by the Dubbels regards the outcome of that proceeding.
"Here is our response," said Peggy.
I skimmed the letter, not quite registering what I was reading. After all, there were customers coming and going. It was plain, however, that the Dubbels had had enough of messing with the City.
Apparently someone will take over the building - not as a hardware store. The Dubbels have decided to close their doors effective March 2008.
