Crime Report April 4 - 11, 2008
4.05.08 Identity Theft All the Way to NY An officer responded to a report of Identity Theft. The complaintant’s bankcard had been used without his permission at a variety of locations in the state of New York. He discovered the unauthorized use when he tried to use his card and was declined. The victim contacted his bank and disputed the charges, cancelling the card. He had not been in New York for at least eight years.. He is not being held financially responsible for the unauthorized transactions, and at this time there is no suspect information.
4.11.08 Vehicle Damage, Possible Theft An officer was dispatched to an address on Commerce circle, where the caller showed the officer where the vehicle was located and gave pertinent information regarding the owner and driver. The passenger window was shattered and there were tiny pieces of a white with green stripe Bosch spark plug on the ground near the broken glass. The vehicle was ransacked making it difficult to determine what if anything was taken.
4.12.08 Theft of Play Station, Thief Known An officer was dispatched to an address on SW Rose Lane to a theft report. Upon arrival the victim told the officer his play station was stolen on April 4, 2008 at about 3 AM while some friends were visiting. he knew who took it but declined to reveal the identity and did not want to pursue charges. he only wanted to file a report because he located the pawn shop it is located at and needed a police report to have it released to him.
