Police Report March 8 - 10 2008

03/08/08  9:28 PM  Don’t Worry, It Wasn’t a Gun - Just An Explosive An office responded to a report of a single gun shot fired in the area of 28722 SW Cascade Loop.  A resident of the area reported she had just heard a gun shot outside her home.  The officer canvassed the area and spoke to residents.  In front of 28677 SW Cascade Loop the officer found a two liter soda bottle lying in the street.  There was moisture ont he ground that led from the north side of the street to the south where the bottle was laying.  Between the two points and on the sidewalk on the south side of the street were shredded pieces of tin foil.  The officer was aware that two-liter bottles can be used to create explosive devices.  The resident who placed the call came out and spoke with the officer.  One of the residents saw a bunch of kids getting into a car after the explosive sound occured, but did not have any information regarding the vehicle.  After speaking with Alan Langford, he learned that after the noise was heard, he saw his son outside.  he thought his son had already left.  His son indicated the source of the noise came from another location.  He did not know who his son was with.  The son had already left in an SUV type vehicle.  The officer made plans to speak with the son regarding this incident.

3/09/08  10:30 PM  Another Good Reason Not To Do Drugs In the Park  A man called regarding his missing daughter who has a history of running away.  After speaking with the man regarding his daughter, the officer began to follow leads in order to find the daughter.  While following up on one of the leads, it was learned that the daughter was at Meridian Park Hospital.  Upon arriving at the hospital, the officer spoke with several of the people who were with the daughter and had arranged to get her to the hospital. According to all accounts there was marijuana being passed around.  After smoking it, she began to have difficulty  breathing, began ‘acting weird’ and began convulsing.  Although the daughter and her friends identified a specific person as supplying the drugs, that person refuted the accusation complete with witnesses.  As the girl and her friends had lied to the officer throughout the course of the investigation, the officer did not feel there was sufficient evidence to make any arrests regarding the drug sale.
