Crime Report - December 13-21, 2007
Wow, it was a busy week for the Wilsonville Police! Vehicle break-ins were the crime choice of the week.
Vehicle break-in at Wilsonville Hotel 12/13/07 Kenneth Teske reported that his car window was smashed in while he was parked overnight at a hotel on SW Parkway Avenue. No property was reported missing.
Vehicle break-in at Super 8 12/13/07 Eugene Welsh reported his vehicle was entered, with a laptop computer and MP3 player having been stolen from the trunk of the vehicle while he was staying at the Super 8 hotel on SW Parkway Avenue.
Stolen Golf Clubs 12/15/07 Nadine Hanson reported that at some time in the past week, someone entered her garage and stole golf clubs from the back of their electric golf cart.
Money stolen from file cabinet of gift shop 12/16/07 Larsen Farm Nursery reported the theft of $300 from their gift shop. The robber pried open one of the gift shop doors and rmoved the cash from a file cabinet.
12/17/07 Pacific Survey Supply reported an incident of Theft I. No further information was provided.
Automobile vandalism and break in at High School Basketball Game 12/17/07 Candace H. Trotter reported her vehicle had incurred a smashed window on the passenger side while they were attending a high school basketball game. A red handbag was taken including Trotter’s driver’s license, credit cards, keys and cell phone. No physical evidence was located at the scene of the crime.
Automobile Break-In 12/18/07 Karen Strangwayes reported she awoke at home to discover the doors of her car open, and items missing from the vehicle. She had not left it in that condition. No suspect information was available.
Home break-in with a screwdriver 12/17/07 Rita Helen Carmin reported her home was broken into during her absence. The intruders apparently pried open a sliding door with a heavy screwdriver which was left at the scene. A computer with a rather large monitor and several other items were missing, although some items of value were left intact.
Holiday Inn Vehicle Theft 12/18/07 Glenda Janiece Webb reported items stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in front of the clubhouse at Charbonneau. On the list of stolen items were jumper cables, a black bag, and a Verizon cell phone.
Another Holiday Inn Vehicle Theft 12/19/07 Sean Morris reported the theft of an IPod, laptop computer, camera, and a GPS unit from his vehicle while it was parked at the Holiday Inn. The computer contained highly specialized software. No investigative leads were established.
Items stolen from vehicle, valuable equipment left alone 12/19/07 Jeff Metcalf reported the theft of an IPod, approximately and 12 compact discs. Highly specialized measuring equipment worth several hundred thousand dollars was left in the vehicle.
Scrap metal theft 12/19/07 Kinetics, Inc. reported a padlock was cut to gain entry to his company’s storage lot. Suspects took about 500 lbs. of scrap stainless steel pipes from the scrap bin. No suspect information was obtained.
Break in, but no theft 12/19/07 Terry Gus Dahlquist awoke to discover the rear passenger door window broken out on his Chevy Suburban containing wrapped presents. Items were strewn about the vehicle, but nothing was taken. There was a pry mark on the side of the window frame that appears to have been made by a flat edge screwdriver. No further information was forthcoming at that time.
Someone doesn’t like shrubs.12/19/07 Brian Andrew Wheeler reported the vandalization of several shrubs located in the front yard at his home. Several other homes on that street were also ‘hit,’ displaying damaged shrubbery.
Caught in the act, but not caught 12/21/07 Mike Kanczula reported seeing two possibly hispanic males enter a Honda Civic using a slimjim, and remove something from the vehicle. The item turned out to be a Sony CD player belonging to the car’s owner, Malia Bingman. The thieves were last seen departing the scene in a Red Acura Integra.
Vehicle break-in 12/21/07 Troy Whitfield reported the break-in to his vehicle and theft of his laptop computer, CD Player, and cell phone while his vehicle was parked on SW Commerce Circle. No suspects were identified.
SUV/truck break-ins, thefts abound one night at La Quinta Inn 12/21/07 An officer was dispatched to the La Quinta Inn regarding numerous car break-ins in the parking lot. Each victim met with the officer, still determining the extent of the damage. Break-ins were limited to SUV’s and trucks. Other break-ins of a similar nature occurred just south of La Quinta between 1-2 am. A witness in one of those incidents reported seeing a red Acura Integra of similar description to the Red Acura in "Caught in the act" (see above.)
Terminix vehicle broken into 12/21/07 James J. Berglund reported the break-in and theft from a Terminix vehicle parked on Commerce Cricle. No prints were recovered, nor suspects defined.
Vehicle ransacked but no theft 12/21/07 Larry C. Nichols reported a theft from his unlocked Ford pickup. While the vehicle was ransacked, nothing was taken. Someone had gone through the paperwork in the vehicle, but left it on the seat.
