Business of the Week - Lee’s Martial Arts Academy
Tucked away in the center of town is a relatively new, growing martial arts academy offering Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido.
Master C.Y. Lee, a native of South Korea, has an impressive background. A graduate of the renown Korean martial arts university, Yong-in, and holding a 6th degree blackbelt in Hapkido, as well as a 5th degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do, Lee has spent over 20 years providing martial arts instruction. Not only has he taught in his own martial arts academy, but prior to that taught for a few years at a dojo in Clackamas, and has lead and tuaght teams such as the national Demonstration Team. Then, just two years ago, Master C.Y. Lee and his new wife Lisa opened up the school and began taking students.
Lee’s Martial Arts Academy has grown over the past two years. Some of the student body is made up of entire families, parents included, who participate in the classes. One family has six members taking classes. (Thankfully, for those families, they do offer a family discount.)
The public is welcome to come and watch if interested in Tae Kwon Do. On Friday, December 14, LMAA will be hosting it’s December Belt Ceremony (to honor the students who have achieved a new level of learning), Christmas party, and talent show. The Lee’s tell me this is a great time to see some demos, and get a feel for the school itself.
